Adult Faith Formation
A variety of programs for Adults
Adult programs are proposed and led by lay members and approved by the Board of Deacons. Some popular adult faith formation classes include bible study and “Faith and Fiction”:
- Four 8-week sessions discussing the 4-volume series Listening for God: Contemporary Fiction and the Life of Faith by Paula Carlson & Peter Hawkins, eds.
- A five-week discussion series on short stories from A Good Man is Hard to Find and other stories by Flannery O’Connor.
- A monthly drop-in book group focusing on fiction that reflects the challenges of immigrants or non-Christians assimilating into a largely Christian-American culture. Featured are works by such writers as Philip Roth, Jhumpa Lahiri, and Ha Jin.
- A five-week discussion series on the text Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life by Richard Rohr
- A four-week discussion series on World Religion in America
