The Pilgrim Church Prayer Shawl Ministry is a vibrant, welcoming group whose mission is to provide healing and comfort.

Prayer Shawl Patterns

The (easy) Pattern:
Size 11 or 13  needles. Cast on either 54, 57, or 60 stitches and k3p3 every row. When starting a row, begin with the opposite stitch, so that you are knitting the purls and purling the knits. Continue for 57 inches. When done, add fringe to both ends.

The Wool:
3 skeins of Lion Brand Homespun. Color of your choice.  Available at Michael’s, AC Moore, and Joanne Fabrics. Cost is approximately $18 to knit one shawl.

Palm Sunday is the Christian holy day that commemorates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, when crowds welcomed him by waving palm branches.

Maundy Thursday

Thursday, April 2nd

6:30 PM Soup & Bread Supper
Join us as we observe Maundy Thursday, beginning with a community soupand bread supper.

7:00 PM Service of Tenebrae

Following the simple supper we will be offer the service of “Tenebrae”, the Latin term meaning “shadows” or “darkness,” referring to a solemn servicethat commemorates the Passion and death of Jesus.

Good Friday

Friday, April 3rd 9:00 AM – Noon
Sanctuary will be open for silent prayer.

Easter Sunday

Sunday, April 5th

6:00 AM Sunrise Service – Island Creek Oysters

10:00 AM – worship at church.
