2017 Thanksgiving Basket Project
The Outreach Committee of the Duxbury Interfaith Council is planning the preparation of Thanksgiving food baskets to distribute to our less fortunate neighbors. This has become a major community endeavor, and we are asking for your help. We are grateful for your continued support, as there are over 100 recipient families.
How To Help?
Monetary Donations: Please make check payable to the Duxbury Interfaith Council and mail to: P.O. Box 1161, Duxbury, MA 02331.
***Pilgrim Church Collection baskets are located at the side entrance of the church.***
Collection dates at Pilgrim Church: October 25 thru November 19th
Non-perishable donations needed:
Yellow and Green vegetables
Juice: Non-frozen concentrated juice mix
Packaged Dessert Mixes:
Quick Bread Mix
Baked goods should be dropped off on Sunday, Nov. 19th and Monday, Nov. 20th at Holy Family Church.
**No food donations in glass containers and within expiration dates, please.
Volunteers Needed at Holy Family Church
Packing & Sorting: We are always in need of volunteers. Any amount of time is helpful, and parents are welcome to bring children on Sunday, Nov. 19th from 12:00 to 4:00 pm (sorting only); and on Monday (filling baskets), Nov. 20th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Basket Pickup & Delivery: Tuesday, Nov. 21st 9:00-12:00 finish filling baskets. Most recipients pick up their baskets. We need help loading the baskets into cars on Tuesday, Nov. 21st from 12:00 – 4:00 pm (Strong adults only, please) Deliveries begin at 1:00 pm.
