Healing Prayer Ministry

“Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7

Sandy Bondlow, center, left, in front of window, meets with a group of Pilgrim Church ladies recently to pray for others in need. The women congregated as part of the Ladies Healing Prayer group. Minister of visitation, the Rev. John Brink, is at right.

Healing Prayer Ministry meets regularly to learn about healing prayer and to pray for themselves and anyone else in need of prayer, either on their own, or with the person wanting prayer, if it is their wish. HPM faithfully cares for the prayer request cards available in the pews and beside the wooden prayer box at the entry to the church (the narthex).

“The Bible gives the strong impression that part of God’s unchanging character is to desire wholeness for every creature. Confident of that, we pray for healing.”
– Tilda Norberg

People are asked to write their concern inside the folded prayer card, and on the front to indicate if they:

  • Wish to have their concern held in prayer through the week
  • Do not wish their prayer read (these are left unopened in the prayer box)
  • Would like to have their concern shared with our Pastors.

Each week a member of the Healing Prayer Ministry takes the cards seeking prayer, and prays daily over it, holding all concerns in strict confidentiality. The concerns are also prayed over at the group’s monthly meeting. Those that remain unopened in the box are prayed over as well.

“Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord.” James 5:15
