Festival of Trees — 2020

Pilgrim Church Festival of Trees 2020

Help us light up the lawn!

Join us in creating a unique, joyous, and safe holiday experience for your family this Christmas season!

The Pilgrim Church Festival of Trees is an opportunity for church families and community organizations to make the season a little brighter for all, while practicing safe social distancing during this outdoor event.

Here’s how we’re going to do it:

The church lawn will be divided into parcels and assigned numbers. Church families and local organizations are encouraged to sign up to provide a decorated tree (artificial or real) to be displayed from Dec. 19th through the 27th.

Each evening between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m the trees will be lit up for the public to enjoy along with Christmas music to add enchantment to the overall experience.

There are so many ways to help make this happen!

Many hands make light work and lots of fun. We hope you’ll consider volunteering for this event in some way:

  • Reach out to the community to find organizations that would like to host a tree – connect with other churches, police department, fire department, senior center, businesses, florists or garden centers, day cares and preschools, scouts, and members of our own church family.
  • Volunteer to measure out parcels for the trees, creating a master plan, assuring walkways that will adhere to social distancing.
  • Organize a collection of necessary supplies to borrow from friends – outdoor extension cords, power surge outlets, speakers for music, generator, etc.
  • Be in charge of logistics to determine and run the electrical needs to each location.
  • Sign up to be on site for one or more of the evenings to turn the lights and music on and off.
  • Be an onsite coordinator on Saturday morning December 19th to help with setting up the trees.
  • Create advertisements of the event and share with local publications and on social media.
  • Join our committee and help coordinate all the above tasks.

Donate and decorate a tree!
