Faith & Fiction December Meeting

Faith & Fiction December Meeting

Tuesday  ·  December 19th  ·  7pm  ·  Parlor

We continue our discussion of works of fiction that reflect the challenges of immigrants or non-Christians assimilating into a largely Christian American culture. December’s meeting will focus on award-winning author Elizabeth Strout’s novel The Burgess Boys about a depressed former mill town in Maine with a substantial influx of Somali refugees. The plot is set in motion when a teenage boy throws a frozen pig’s head through the door of a local Somali mosque during Ramadan.

A limited number of books will be on reserve at Westwinds for our group. Please email me at for more information if you are interested in attending this December meeting. Prior participation is not required. All are welcome.
